MY TRIFLE BANANA CAKE


Walla, my triffle, a pudding consisting of cake at the bottom layer, pudding custard on top of the cake, fruit cocktail as the third layer and NONA jelly crstal at the top layer, refrigerate for two hours...... hmmm nyaman

I have been dreaming of eating this pudding since the time I was in Makkatul Mukaramah five months ago. I bought all the ingredients and are all ready in the cabinet waiting for someone just to start it.....

the only ingredient missing is the cake.

these are some of the products that I used.

the first layer, a chocolate banana cake which I made yesterday. the usual cake is either a swiss roll or sponge cake. why not try banana CHOCOLATE cake????

the second and the third layer I conveniently forgot to snap the pictures.... too engrossed with the task.

since the recipe given did not mention the size of the container to use, and there was abundent of left over cake, so I use the custard mixture as an estimate for the end quantity. So I manage to get all these, no leftover at all.

The Recipe taken from myresipi from FB:
  • cake - any cake (marble cake, butter cake) I used chocolate banana cake
  • 3 tbsp custard powder
  • 1tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tin evaporated milk
  • 1 tin fruit cocktail
  • 1 packet Nona Jelly crystal
  • 2 cups water to dissolve the crystal
  1. cut the cake thinly and arrange cake at the bottom container
  2. dissolve custard powder with 1 cup water, sugar, the evaporated milk, syrup from the cocktail fruit and cook over medium heat until thick and pour over the cake.
  3. arrange the fruit cocktail over the custard layer.
  4. mixed jelly crystal with the cup of water or according to the package stated.
  5. pour over the fruit cocktail until it cover the fruit.
  6. refrigerate for two hours then serve...
